Jang Geun Seok rocks Black ‘N Jean, “Black Engine”
Seriously, if there’s one thing Korea knows how to do right, it’s branded entertainment. They did it with the Anycall series (Anyclub, Anymotion, Anyband), and many of their commercial ad campaigns and music videos are high-profile and large-scale, practically like mini-movies in and of themselves.
This time, the male cosmetics line Black ‘N Jean has tapped adorable rising star Jang Geun Seok, currently paining me as the unemotional Chang Whe in fusion sageuk drama Hong Gil Dong, as their brand model. And they’re sparing no expense for what basically amounts to a glorified hair-product commercial, bringing in kpop hitmaker Park Jin Young, aka JYP, to write the song that Mr. Jang sings himself.
The song, “Black Engine,” is a play on the cosmetic line’s name, and is described as hip-hop electronica; it showcases Jang Geun Seok gettin’ his groove on while acting cool and sporting a variety of funky hairstyles.
The guy is totally adorable, I get it. And he’s obviously rocking the young hip urban thing, which is why it’s interesting that he’s made his name starring in historical dramas. Here’s the MV for the campaign, which officially launches the 28th:

stars with high IQ
After it became known that announcer Han Joon Ho is a member of Mensa — the group open only to those with high IQs (specifically, those who score above the 98th percentile on standardized IQ tests) — interest arose in the topic of celebrity IQs.
For reference, the average IQ is 100, although the range can be extended to include 90 through 109. (110-119 is superior intelligence, 120-140 is very superior, and above 140 is generally known as genius level. Conversely, 80-89 is in the “dull” range, 70-79 is borderline deficient, and under 70 is considered “feeble-minded.”) And yes, I know IQ can be considered an outdated standard of measurement.
Now, some of these names are familiar, but some are a bit surprising. Goong’s Kim Jung Hoon, a smarty? Whoaaa. Not that he seemed, well, un-smart, but I’m a little surprised.
Looking at other public figures with high IQs, Joy News turned up KBS reporter Ryu Shi Hyun, another Mensa member with a reported IQ of 160.
The SBS show host Shin Dong Yeob startled with the revelation that his IQ measured 139. Another MC and comedian Kim Yong Man is reported to have an IQ of 143.
Pop singer Hong Kyung Min admitted that his IQ, back when tested in his school days, was 148, and Infinity Challenge’s Jung Joon Ha’s measured 140.
Epik High rapper and Stanford University graduate Tablo has an IQ of over 150.
Ahn Jae Hwan, who attended Seoul University, has an IQ nearing 150.
Another of Seoul University’s most famous graduates is Kim Tae Hee; she and pop singer and Goong star Kim Jung Hoon both measure in with IQs surpassing 140.

Jo In Sung lives in a cement closet
If you’ve ever wondered what type of house the stars lived in-look no further. The effeminate Jo In-sung lives in a cement closet house somewhere in Seoul (likely Kangnam). The exterior looks very cold and uninviting (as with most cement buildings) but the interior is thankfully a little warmer with the natural woods and beige walls. But the place looks so empty and devoid of life. Not a place I would want to live in.
Jo In-sung, is it lonely living in the closet?

Tim’s fan meeting in Japan
Last January 25, about 1,000 fans gathered at the Zepp Tokyo Hall for Tim’s fan meeting entitled “LIVE&TALK.”
The event started with Tim introducing himself in Korean, English and Japanese and progressed to Tim singing “Explanation for Using My Heart,” “I Love You,” “The Ankle is Injured,” which is from the OST of “Seducing Mr. Perfect,” Hirai Ken’s “Grandfather’s Clock,” and “The Pupil is Shut,” and “Just the Two of Us,” which was his encore song.
Of course the event did not end without Tim expressing his thanks to his Japanese fans and his wish to have more opportunities to meet them.

KBS Music Bank’s new MCs
KBS’s music program “Music Bank” will have new MCs starting February 15. MCs HaHa and Lee Hyun Ji will be replaced by Epik High’s Tablo and actress Kim Sung Eun, who was dubbed as “tone deaf” because of her stints in “Happy Sunday-Immortal Songs.”
“I wanted MCs that don’t only appeal to teens but also to various age groups and Tablo and Kim Sung Eun were judged to be most suited to host the show,” the show’s producer revealed.

Watch out for Aju!
The Korean pop music scene is already awaiting for the newest male singer that is said to have it all, from dancing, singing and great looks.
He is the 18-year-old Aju who will debut on February 14 with his debut single “First KISS.” This guy trained for 6 years under STAM Entertainment, which is the same label of Younha.
“First KISS” was voluntarily written by Park Hwayobi, who got the idea when she saw his lips. This song is actually a labor of love because Park Hwayobi kept working on its lyrics until the day before her vocal cord operation.
Even Younha was full support for his junior because she helped him practice playing the piano. As a trainee, Aju just watched Younha play the piano but eventually, Younha became his teacher, who has been known to be sometimes nice and also frightening.
“Aju’s genre is a combination of New Kids on the Block’s ‘teen rock,’ N’ Sync’s ‘teen pop’ and some band sound. The people who worked on Younha’s ‘Password 486′ and ‘Comet’ participated in his debut single,” STAM Entertainment revealed.

Super Junior Human Body 12
It’s every Elves dream come true. Their precious SuJu oppas are finally out of the closet and are lip locking other members for the world to see. Now the Elves don’t have to feel bad that they can’t date SuJu members because these pretty boys are unattainable for a good reason.
The SuJu boys lip-locked as a part of an experiment during popular variety show Human Body Experiment. In addition to revealing their hidden sexuality, the SuJu boys also revealed their bare faces with flawless complexion. Despite the boys’ daily routine of sweat, makeup, and irregular rest patterns, Super Junior boys were blessed with some super skin.
