17th Seoul Music Awards
Aside from getting a “Top Artist Award” and the “Digital Music Award,” BIG BANG won the “Artist of the Year Award” in the 17th Seoul Music Awards, which was sponsored by Sports Seoul and held at the Kangwon Land Haiwon Hotel Conference Hall on January 31.
Other “Top Artist Award” winners were Super Junior (Don’t Don), SG Wanna Be(Arirang), Epik High (Fan), Jang Yoon Jeong (First Love), Baek Ji Young (I Only Need One Love), See Ya (Love’s Greeting), Eru (Because We are Two), MC The Max (My Heart Can’t Go On Like This Any Longer) and V.O.S (Everyday Everyday).
The Rookie of the Year Awards went to Girls’ Generation (Girls’ Generation), Wonder Girls (Tell Me) and FT Island (Love Sick).
The following are the winners of other awards:Mobile Popularity Award - Super Junior, Best Album Award - Epik High, Digital Music Award - BIG BANG, Korean Wave Special Award - Paran, Adult Music Award - Park Hyun Bin, and Haiwon Music Award - Girls’ Generation
