[NEWS] The Meaning Behind SNSD’s Gee?, Interview with NewSen

The returning SNSD has revealed the hidden meaning behind their title song “Gee”.
The song “Gee” is about a young girl’s first love and her cute heart as she reacts to it. “Gee” is an expression similar to “Oh my gosh.”
SNSD said “It’s a cute and bright word. The entire song is brimming with energy. It’s so much fun for us to sing the song. It wasn’t easy matching the fast beat and the choreography and the song at the same time but all of us are having fun doing it together. It’s even more fun to see the choreography with the song.”
Moreover, they added “Every night, we clench our teeth and prepare for our comeback performance. Excepting for the time that we eat and sleep, nearly all the other time is spent practicing for it. As soon as our eyes are open, we’re listening to “gee gee gee”. The initial “G” isn’t only for the song but it also signifies SNSD. “G” is the first letter in “Girls Generation”. Also, if you add the “g” to shortened form of our name SoShi, you get this fun expression “Soshi-Gee”. In our choreography, we also draw the letter “Gee”. But we haven’t yet named our dance.”
Additionally, SNSD said “Being that it’s our comeback.. we’re just thinking of giving our best. SNSD, we always say to ourselves “Just work hard! That’s all we need!”. It’s so fascinating for us to see that the reaction to our song is good. It’s the same feeling like we had a year and 6 months ago when we first debuted.”
SNSD will release their first mini album “Gee” on the 7th. Their title song “Gee” was released on the 5th. Within a day of releasing the song, it immediately went to number one on many music charts. SNSD will make their come back stage on the 9th at KBS Music Bank.

[2008 Gayo Daejun Awards]The Wonderboys are BACK!

All five boys: Taemin (SHINee), Seungri (Big Bang), Shindong & Sungmin (Super Junior H), and Jo Kwon (2AM) got back together for none other than the SBS Gayo Daejun Awards.This time around they performed Girls’ Generation’s “Kissing You” and Wondergirls‘ “Nobody” and once again, it looks like the boys have showed the girls up. (Considering neither boys nor girls performed spectacularly.)
If I were any of the girls in these groups, I wouldn’t be cheering them on like the Wondergirls did but I would be worried about my own career. I would especially be worried about Jo Kwon. He’s a little too good at being feminine.

Daesung croons with the best of the best

Big Bang’s Daesung performed his trot single “Look at me, Gwi Soon” with legendary trot singers Tae Jin Ah, Song Dae Kwon, Jang Yoon Jung, and Park Hyun Bin.
There was nothing special about their performance except for the fact that Song Dae Kwon and Tae Jin Ah were on the same stage without there being a battle of songs/words.

Clazziquai to perform on the eve of “ETPFEST 2008″

Clazziquai is performing on the eve of “ETPFEST 2008,” which is scheduled on August 15. The festival will also be Seo Tae Ji’s comeback stage after years away from the limelight.
According to Clazziquai, it respects so much Seo Tae Ji, who created the rock festival, that agreeing to perform on August 14 at the Jamsil ballpark was a no-brainer.
“It’s been a long time since Clazziquai was seen together in one event,” the group added. Its 2 members, Horan and Alex, are pursuing solo careers at the moment.

Epik High, “We are touched that the Thai fans are much above our expectations”

Hip hop group Epik High is given the green light for their advance into Thailand. They had their first showcase which saw more than 500 fans and also did about 25 media interviews.

Epik High will be in Thailand Bangkok 4 days from 9th August, which saw the heated response from fans there.

Tablo said over a phone interview, “We went there without much expectation, and it turned out we have a lot of fans here in Thailand. We were shocked when they sang along with us during our showcase performances. We have a tight schedule here, we are not feeling tired and is advancing smoothly.”

They had their outdoors showcase on 10th August in Bangkok Siam Centre which saw about 1000 fans turn up. They performed “Fan” and “Love Love Love”. They also did about 25 media interviews, and was followed up with by about 90 media personnel at the airport and also recognised by 10 media broadcast programs to be asked to perform in them.
